Early script was considered holy writing and a means to send messages to gods. The Negev rocks were the writing pages to scribe a message during rituals in holy places in the presence of the almighty powers of nature. This way the message eternalized and it was a promise for its full fulfillment.
The script found in Mount Karkom, and is called Old Negev. It is dated to 1600 BC and was in use by the Negev desert nomads. It originated from the Proto Sinai script found in in Serabit el Hadam, the turquoise mines in the Sinai desert.
What is extraordinary about it , is the inscriptions of explicit Hebrew god names as we know them from the Bible. The names of the god inscribed on the Negev desert rocks are YA ,YHH, El.
